We drove into Ålesund, parked and walked in a big touristy queue up to Aksla. Looked at the view, had some food, walked down again. Did a walk in the rain, went to some shops and Naomi bought a Norway 🇳🇴 – hoodie. Pretty wet, walked to a café where we met Silje (it was planned) and had more food. Went to the jugent centre, but it was closed drove home and had some MACRELLS!
Måløy-Ålesund
Now staying in a nice Airbnb outside Ålesund after packing up and leaving refviksansden and then spent an extra half hour to go see a weird stone.
The kids did some swimming and dan did some fishing. Caught six huge macrells! Then dinner by David. Very nice.
Førde – Måløy
Left Førde quite late. A bit of chilling and swimming in the pool. Got some ferries. Got to Måløy where we camped at refviksansen. Very nice beach. Some people swam. “tapas” and “bonfire”.
Lærdal-Førde
Packed up and drove to Lærdalsøyri, bin and coffee at Freidag+fretland. Lovely houses! Ferry, stave-Church (kaupang) and Glacier (the world’s 6th largest!)
Hotel in Førde is good. Kids had a swim in the pool. Dinner in the restaurant.
Bergen-Voss- Aurlandsvangen towards Lærdal
Stopped to have a swim in the sea just east of bergen. Fun waterside! Saw a lot of mountains, lunch in Voss. Between Aurdal and Lærdal we didn’t get the (longest) tunnel, but drove to Stegastein viewpoint, then across the mountain where we camped.
Bergen
Trondheim – Gol/Geilo – Noreimsund
Long drive on Monday, shorter drive on Tuesday. Monday night we had lovely Italian pizza at Gol, then we left the main road to camp in the wilderness. Tuesday we had decided to rent a cabin somewhere, but couldn’t find one so ended up in a tent . After a nice Thai curry in the centre we are now in Mo campsite.
Kaja, 3 years today!
Fisketur, Saturday
A little trip round Trondheim by bicycle…
Maria was still feeling a bit under the weather today. Dan, Ronja and Mikkel went on a long, meandering bicycle trip around Trondheim. As usual, buns, fizzy pop and ice cream was involved. Even though the weather could be a LOT better, it was nice to remind ourselves that it is really quite a nice place to be.
