Morten is 50 today and he chose to celebrate with us, we had cocktails and cheese and played Politisk Ukorrekt, which is the Norwegian version of cards against humanity. It was so funny, Ronja and Mia were too embarrassed to read the rude ones, and there were a few of those…

Julaften we went to birthday party at Knuts, Mikkel was nisse at the neighbors, then we went to have dinner and Norwegian presents at bestemor and bestefar.

Christmas day we got up, had gifts, played games, had some drinks, made some good, ate it, had a kahoot and watched home alone 2.

We all worked together and made sushi and dumplings

This could become a tradition!

All our cheering didn’t help and Hoops lost 43-48 against Utleira. Heia Hoops! Then we did some shopping, bought a tree, went for Thai food and julebrus and juleøl test. Julegeita from K. Aa. S won. Today we have worked a bit and decorated the tree. The weather is Ghastly!..

On Saturday we got up nice and early to drive north to Verdal, where Mikkel’s basketball team had an away match with Verdal Vikings. As we did last year, Maria booked us into the Scandic hotel at Stiklestad so we could make the most of the trip.

Unfortunately (for both teams), the difference between them in size and experience meant that it was a very uneven game, the final score being 88 to 5 – in Sverresborg Hoops’ favour.

After the match, we said our goodbyes to the rest of the team and drove the short distance to Stiklestad to the hotel/museum. Here they are in full Christmas mode with lots of seasonal activities (snow wrestling for example*) and a Christmas market. Very cosy – auntie Naomi would love it…

After that it was just a lot of relaxing, drinking and eating – all with a bit a seasonal twist. Sunday morning started with a BIG breakfast and a quick look around the museum before hopping in the car and heading back to Trondheim and Henry.
