Packed up and drove to Lærdalsøyri, bin and coffee at Freidag+fretland. Lovely houses! Ferry, stave-Church (kaupang) and Glacier (the world’s 6th largest!)
Hotel in Førde is good. Kids had a swim in the pool. Dinner in the restaurant.

Stopped to have a swim in the sea just east of bergen. Fun waterside! Saw a lot of mountains, lunch in Voss. Between Aurdal and Lærdal we didn’t get the (longest) tunnel, but drove to Stegastein viewpoint, then across the mountain where we camped.
Long drive on Monday, shorter drive on Tuesday. Monday night we had lovely Italian pizza at Gol, then we left the main road to camp in the wilderness. Tuesday we had decided to rent a cabin somewhere, but couldn’t find one so ended up in a tent . After a nice Thai curry in the centre we are now in Mo campsite.
Maria was still feeling a bit under the weather today. Dan, Ronja and Mikkel went on a long, meandering bicycle trip around Trondheim. As usual, buns, fizzy pop and ice cream was involved. Even though the weather could be a LOT better, it was nice to remind ourselves that it is really quite a nice place to be.
We started Mikkel’s birthday with a big sausage. When everyone was dressed and ready we went into town to the Science Centre (a favourite of Mikkel’s) which was full of damp families avoiding the Trondheim summer. Later on back at home we had a (small) birthday celebration with Roar and Marit. Pappa made lasagne, Mamma made cake, Ronja made muffins. Lots of family people (+ Åsmund) called to talk with Mikkel. Later on Mikkel got to try out some new PlayStation games and relax with a bit of tv.
Fishing trip to lade, absolutely no fish, but a lot of weather! On the way home we found a small Mexican guy in nille.
