Fauske – Furøya camping (Halsa)

Started the day with a massive scandic buffé breakfast. After packing up we drove to see great (great) uncle Harald Mellerud and Aunt Laila. Maria met them in 1988, the rest haven’t , so that was nice! They thought it was a great surprise! 😁

Then we drove to Saltstraumen, the worlds second largest tidal maelstrom. The weather was a bit off, so both that and the ureddplassen were a bit less impressive than they could have been. Since only the bottom half of the bridge /mountain /cliff showed. Drove as far as Halsa where we are lodging in a luxury cabin.

After dinner we went for an ice cream and found out that there are bronseage graves on the property. We went to see them and ended up climbing a small mountain.

Stamsund – Fauske

After waving goodbye to Åshild, Gisle, Sunniva, Sigve, Sigri, 25 pigs, 4 turkeys, 15 hens, 2 Guineapigs, 1 hamster and Morten the cat / lynx we were on the road again with no particular place to go.

Heading north-east through the beautiful landscape doing a lot of wow-ing.

North of Svolvær we went to the beach, and after a swim we decided to stay the night.

This morning we had coffee and hot chocolate on the beach before packing up and driving to the ferry where we crossed. We have gone through about 23 long and bumpy tunnels today, and went to see some “helleristninger” on the way. Pretty tired when we arrived in Fauske and checked in to scandic. Luxury!

Bodø-stamsund

Stayed 2 nights with Åshild and the gang at Myklevik gård in Stamsund. There were kids and animals everywhere. And sausages for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Lively weather. Went to two beaches, and had BBQ at Solveigs House.

Tuesday we drove on to Svolvær and camped on a beach on the north side of the island. 30 degrees and perfect!
