Going to the museum, yo!
Summer in Tvetestien
Going home
Last day in chania
“bestemor si at dæm rosa smake fælt, men no har Æ smakt, og æ syns det smake deilig, så da veit æ det”
We went to chania for dinner on our last day. Went to the number 9 out of 530 on trip adviser, which we actually found by accident, next to our square. It was the best meal we have had this summer. The mountain – meal dropped to number two.
It was so great! They even tried to make the kind of deep fried calamari for Ronja and it was so completely million times better than the rubber bands she’s had before.
Afterwards we went to the square behind the church and the kids got a massive banana split each. They finished almost all if it, so we worried they were gonna be sick.. Went and got a few souvenirs, then bus home. To bed about 11.!
Spa
Ever since we saw a big poster in platanias Ronja has wanted a proper spa treatment, and today she got it. Two slices of cucumber and a handfull of nivea!
Tuesday
We went to iguanach, and then to Chania in the evening. Just for a stroll and a “Coca-Cola please!”
On the way back Ronja and Mikkel got somw hats they had been looking at for a while. Ronjas one is not saying N. Y. but NY as in she’s gonna wear it at school and say: “æ e ny på skolen (gammel i barnehagen!)”
Pool-poolare
Today we hang out at the pool all day. It was very windy, and for the first time we all just felt like staying here. In the evening we went for a stroll in the hood. To a beach bar and along the beach.
Dan is missing Henry …
Over 3000 years old tree, and another great beach
First a great and healthy breakfast
Then a quick trip to Agia marina where Tove Nilsens book is set.
This is the back of platanias..
And here Ronja and Mikkel are posing inside the world’s oldest olive tree. The tree is over 3000 years old, and from the pre-geometric period. That is before the so-called Greeks, Romans and all that! Imagine what that tree has experienced.
was even a little olive-oil-museum where they had a fossil – olive branch, and a lot of other interesting things!
Then we went to Falassarna. Elafonissi is great, but maybe Falassarna is even nicer!..
Elafonissi today
Quite an amazing drive through a terrifying gorge and over a picturesque mountain took us to the most amazing beach we had ever experienced! Elafonissi beach was like a tropical paradise in a dessert.
We swam for hours and when we drove back we had lunch /dinner in a taverna in the middle of nowhere. The best, and most authentic, food so far! Had a dip in the swimming pool when back. Mikkel was crazy Bananas..!
