Just wanted to show you that we are not always looking as glamorous as we appear in this blog…

What an amazing day! You can’t be an art(history) teacher or an exhibition designer, go to Crete, and not go to Knossos! The kids also got really into it after reading my art history book on the beach and telling them about minotaurus for a few days. We wandered around tor ages. Imagined how it would have been wandering around there 4000 years ago, when Norwegians were still in fur/caves. Pretty much.. Afterwards we had lunch, spent half an hour getting back on the motorway, and drove to Retymno. Quite a nice place. Interesting mix of architecture.! Went back. Shopping in inka. Omelette and salad for supper. Both went out pretty fast, although Ronja was a bit worried that maybe the minotaurus was in fact real and still alive!
Day 9 – A road trip through the mountains to a perfect beach (if perhaps a little windy).
Day with car 1
We have rented a car for three days. Today we started off driving to the most amazingly beautiful (and most windy) beach I have ever been to at Phalasarna. After a while there we attempted to drive to Palaiochora in a big loop through the mountains. After lunch in a mountaintop restaurant we eventually gave up and drove North, which fortunately put us in the most amazing mountain pass/gorge. Can’t remember the name right now. Dan has more pictures!
