Santanyi + S’Amarador

Today we drove to the Wednesday market at santanyi, which turned out to be great! We bought a cheese and a birthday gift for bestemor. That’s it. Then we drove to S’Alqueria Blanca, which is a beautiful little town with just a church a town square and some bars. We were looking for a good place to get menu del dia, and tried a place with a nice garden. The waiter was a bit strange, and we changed our minds… And when we left we saw a dead cat in the driveway. “I’d say that’s a bad sign” said Dan.. We decided to drive towards Portopeteo and found a nice place by the harbour. Afterwards we drove back a bit to get to Mallorcas most beautiful beach, according to www.britishpeopletelleachotheraboutsecretplacestogo.com, and it might as well be! Look at pictures in my new collage-making editor app.
We have now handed in the car and had some delicious food that mamma Maria managed to cook up from some stuff we had in the fridge.. (fresh prawns, chorizo, fresh tomatoes, white onions, peppers and tortilla espanola.) Ronja is turning into such a gourmet!

Palma

So today we drove to Palma de Mallorca. Very beautiful city with lots of modernista houses and little plazas and streets. A bit like Barcelona.
We had a menu del dia again. It was almost as good and just as cheap as yesterday. The cathedral was beautiful and really big, and so was the que to get into it. We went into another church instead. Ronja asked a lot of questions about Jesus and we tried to answer, but in the end we had to tell her to ask aunt Lisa when she gets home. In the afternoon we drove back to cala ferrera and relaxed in the pool.
Then we fried a fish (durado) and ate it with some fruit.
Mmmm.

Car

Then the Berge – Richards family had enough of the charter life. We rented a car and went North. First to portocolom then to Artá which was really beautiful with the cathedral on top of the hill and narrow streets. We asked done builders for advice on the best local restaurant con menu del dia and found a nice family-run place with 3 course meal and coffee for 8,50.. Fantastico!
Then we drove to a beach not far from alcudia which www.britishpeoplegivingeachotheradviceonwheretogoinmallorcathatnobodyelsehasbeentoespeciallybritishpeople.com said was really nice. It was nice. Very beautiful in fact. But a bit difficult to bathe at because one of the reasons why it is beautiful is that the rocks under water made the water so blue.
Afterwards we drove back. It really wasn’t very far. Then we did some shopping, and had some seafood. Nice.!

Mikkel can swim

PLASK!
Mikkel svømmer avgårde. Hovedsakelig med hodet under vann, men han får sa i seg litt luft. Hurra for Mikkel!

Hurraaaaaa!

We have already been into town to collect a cake that we ordered with lightening Mcqueen on it that we ordered in Wednesday from la panaderia. Mikkel also got to sit on an extremely terrifying dinosaur for two microseconds before he freaked out and decided to buy a smaller plant eater.
Now we are enjoying the pool, which is Mikkels choice of activity for the day. ❤
He also doesn’t want to eat at a restaurant, do we might do the same thing as yesterday…

This evening

We went to the supermarket and bought lots of seafood and had a a seafood feast. Afterwards we had to go for a walk, and had a drink in the local while the kids played on the slide and scared some German boys twice their age and size.
